Now we're going to get ourselves into some work out.
When you are training for something like climbing or jumping rope, it's far more productive to think about what you want to achieve, and what you can accomplish under the circumstances.
You are training to climb or to jump rope, and that's what this is. You are training your muscles and your ability to function under the demanding circumstances. I have an article about some of the different kinds of training you can do in the gym. We may read the article and then write out a brief statement about what we have learned. Let's get to work and start training. This is serious stuff!

We want to get better prepared to climb. We need the climbing equivalent of a training plan so that we have a clear goal and a purpose for our efforts. Climbing is not very "efficient". You have tons of effort spent to get only a small amount of gain. You have to spend a good deal of time on technique to achieve something relatively small in value. There also tends to be a very high failure rate in climbing due to the unpredictability of the rock. You are not a machine like a car mechanic. To climb efficiently, you are going to have to plan your practice and your attempts. The best approach is to practice a particular approach sequence. You are climbing using the same techniques each time. You do your planning, set your goal for the time you are willing to put into practice, and stick to it. If you practice for a year or more, you will have more than enough practice to be efficient.
